Travels: Surprise me, Phuket!

OK, so I'm all packed and off for a well-deserved holiday. I'm just not too stoked about the destination - Phuket. Bleh. Been there one too many times, the last was last year with my brother in-law, Michael. I swear, the island didn't look like it was touched by the 2004 tsunami at all. If anything, that disaster has made the place anything but friendly. Prices have quadrupled and I personally feel the tsunami has wiped out the warmth of the islanders. Oh, they're nice to the farangs, but the minute they found out I was not Thai, but from neighbouring Malaysia, watch that attitude change!! Pfft!

One of the few places I like in Phuket - Kata Beach. Gorgeous!!

Of course then watching some of the local girls openly making googly eyes at my farang husband, OR, farangs making eyes at me thinking I must be for "hire". Or dirty looks as if my farang husband hired me. It's so freakin' annoying, though Husband J finds it amusing. Maybe this time seeing my bulging belly, they'll lay off.

*OMG, I started off by whinging!*
Phuket Island, Thailand

At least the beaches in Phuket are still beautiful. I love the water too. So clear and clean.

This time, we're holidaying with husband-and-wife friends from Ireland. They were looking forward to do the beautiful islands on the east coast of Malaysia, but this is not the time as it is close for the monsoon season. So Phuket it is, since they've never been there. Which is why I didn't protest when J said we're going there. It was an easy decision as well.

So I've packed my sunblock, sunnies and bikinis. Yes, I plan to don on my bikini, bulging tummy or not. Though one of 'em is a tad small now that when I bend to sit, you can see me crack!! LOL!! Give it another month, I doubt I can fit into it anymore!! I'm still taking that small-ish bikini, because in some weird way, I am still in denial!

So hopefully I won't be a totally lazy bum bum this time and take lots of pictures though I'm hardly excited about Phuket anymore. But at least I get to go away, so I must not sound too ungrateful.

Maybe this time, Phuket will surprise me, eh. Heck! I should just be glad to get out of the country for a bit!

Thanks for dropping by!

Baby Buzz: Stork Story

It seemed like a gazillion years since I wrote anything, but looking back, it hasn't been that long has it?? OK, yes it has. To say that I've been wrapped up with things and issues is an understatement.

Truth is, the Stork came a-knockin'...

Seeing that I am 16 weeks today (4 months for those of us too lazy to do the Math), I am well into my 2nd trimester, and am having a stable and healthy pregnancy, God willing. Yes, Puss got knocked up at the ripe ol' age of 38!! This is my first, and my Husband J and I were initially surprised, but immensely thrilled!

I've been quite fortunate - my early pregnancy symptoms were very mild. A little bit of aches and pains (although at the time they hit me it didn't feel so 'mild'!), a lot of napping and a little nausea to seal the deal. Now at 4 months, the out-of-control hormones have pretty much settled down, and I am finally beginning to enjoy my pregnancy.

These past couple of weeks, I've had to put up with toothache (and you know how miserable those can be!), which I found out was due to lack of calcium, despite taking calcium pills. My bub was sucking out calcium from me and I immediately had to go out to buy a tin of milk for pregnant mums. I h.a.t.e milk. I love cheese but they make me bloat like a mutha, so I had to suck it up, and drink milk. Thank Goodness the one I bought had a bit of flavour so it wasn't a chore chugging a glass down. The toothache issue has improved and I am waiting with abated breath the next big annoying thing to hit me!
At 4 months, I have just started to feel the weight of my belly. I'm also starting to show which I find so amusing! Not too long ago, I would freak if I see a little bump! I'd adjust my diet and work out like mad at the gym! These days, my bump is what makes me smile. My friends tell me I don't look like I'm showing much which I'm glad. I just hope I don't get so big later on. My wardrobe has also changed. No more skinny jeans. Seems trivial but I miss putting on my skinnies and heels!! I am soooo hating my wardrobe right now! *sulk*

Speaking of working out, that has been put on hold ever since I found out 2 months ago. My life without exercise has been one. big. laze-about! I feel sooooo sloooow and I can't wait to get back to the gym. My trainer Ela has equipped himself with information on pregnancy exercise programmes so when I go back I can enjoy a safe and effective workout. I can't wait!! That will happen only after my Phuket trip next weekend! (Yay for holidays!)

Makeup-wise, I am starting slowly to have makeup on again. You wouldn't believe it, but during the 1st trimester when body wasn't feeling so great, I looked like a train-wreck wherever I went, and I didn't care!! No makeup, no lip balm, nothing. You hear stories on how some pregnant women would have strange sickness. Well, mine was makeup! I would feel sick looking at my cosmetic stash, even looking at anything beauty related! So for a few weeks, I had no beauty mags, no beauty blogs, no YouTube beauty videos and definitely no makeup of my own! Thank Gawd that passed!! These days, I stick with my minerals and nothing elaborate: mineral foundie, concealer, tightline, mascara, blush and lipblam. No eyeshadows yet. Gotta start slow. The colours are not calling out my name yet, but it'll come. My skin has improved as well (Darn those pregnancy hormones!) so I look and feel better. Friends say now I have that "glow" many people talk about with pregnant women (though I don't notice it!).

So this is my story. Not that I have sworn off makeup (touch wooooood!), but the universe had other plans for me. I am grateful for this blessing, despite constantly grumbling about my fugly wardrobe (!!!). I just pray this will continue to be a normal and healthy pregnancy.

Thank you for still wanting to read this. Makeup reviews will resume (albeit infrequently - blame those unpredictable pregnancy hormones!!).

I've lost that lovin' feelin'.

It seems like forever since I last updated this blog, but guess what? I still have nothing for you!

No. I lie.

I do. I received 3 small packages of makeup goodies some weeks ago but here's the thing: I haven't tried or even opened some of 'em from their packaging! These days, whenever I look at my makeup, I feel like throwing up.

I haven't been using much makeup either. I think I've lost that lovin' feeli
n'...

owwwhhhh...

Hopefully it's temporary.

Lemme look for that makeup-obssessed chic, she's in there somewhere!

Thanks for bearing with me!

Beauty Binge on a break!

I've been such a slacker this week in updating my blog, but unfortunately, the slacker-mode continues riiiiight 'till Eid (hopefully!).

I have been distracted by a *huge* event in my life that has taken over my addiction for makeup and all things beauty (gasp!). So instead of leaving this cold, I'm here to let you know that I will be Missing-in-Action for awhile, until I can pull my sh!t together. Hopefully by Eid. I still have a couple more packages expected in the mail, so by the time I come back, I will definitely have stuff to play with and review.

Meantime, enjoy the rest of Ramadhan, have a safe Eid and stay beautiful always.

~hugs~

Beauty Binge: SOS!

I was a huge MaryKay Cosmetics user many many years ago, when one bottle of moisturiser would cost just RM40!! Yeah, t'was a long time ago. I loved this brand, and used the skincare and cosmetics faithfully for several years. Until my regular beauty consultant got very ill, she couldn't service me anymore. Unfortunately she didn't introduce me to another consultant , so naturally, I moved on to more accessible brands. This is one thing I don't like about MLM products, it's not as easy as going to the mall and dropping by the counter to purchase what you want.

I am running out of moisturiser and such. I still love my SK-II cleanser, Essence and my Jurlique toner, so I'm still sticking to those, but I want to go back to using MK's moisturisers.

Right now, I am looking at getting just one or two things first, before I venture into more products, so I don't need to be hassled into getting a set or anything like that, as I am on a tight budget. But I do need someone I can count on their service, who can be contacted easily when I do need to replenish my products in the future.

If you are an MK consultant or know of one who is in the Klang Valley area, give me a shout, will ya. I can be reached at puss.inheels@yahoo.com.
Or you can leave a comment if you like.

Thanks very much!

Beauty Binge: Puss answers.

YIKES!! I have completely forgotten to check my yahoo m@il account! (And there I was, consistently typing in my yahoo email address before my paw signature). Sheeesh! I am such a duffus!!

I did check my inbox quite often in the beginning, but all I ever received was mail from some African "prince" or "millionaire" promising me a lot of money; or from some couple so ill they need my help (money); or from some organization delivering me the "good" news that I have "won 300,000 Pounds!" Really now ... I can't believe there are still people in the world who still fall for these scams!!

So, my sincerest apologies for those of you who have written in and not get anything back, 'till now. I will answer ALL your mail as soon as I can, please bear with me. I could not believe the amount of mail I received! I only started turning this blog into a beauty blog 3 months ago and I really didn't expect to receive such a huge amount of mail. Thank you!

For today's entry, I'll feature *some* of the mail I received, along with my answers. Enjoy!

1. Ernie Linda - "Which brand should i buy if i want to do a simple smokey eye? i also like palettes. can you recommend one? i am a student so i don't have a lot to spend."

Hey Ernie! I like palettes too! They're so much easier to work with especially when your just starting out. You didn't say what colour smokey look you are going for, but I am going to assume you want the traditional smokey of black/charcoal gray. I have 3 palettes in mind. My favourite is from SilkyGirl duo called 'Smokey Spark'. I can't remember the exact price but you can get it well under RM20. This is a silver/charcoal combo and it works fabulously when I want a fuss-free smokey. Just swipe the silver on your lid and the charcoal in the crease, gently smoking it out. Simple. The other palette I like is Revlon's 12-hour palette called 'Sultry Smoke' retailing for RM46. These colours are incredibly intense and dark so you need to be really confident of your smokey-eye application skills. I love using the blue on the lid, charcoal (3rd colour) in my crease and the black as liner; the lightest colour as highlight. Of course you can switch the colours around to your liking. This palette stays on forever! The Elianto Baked shadow in B&W is also something to consider. It's domed shape and better used wet. You can wet your brush with tap water and apply, the colour comes off quite intense! The white is for lids, the charcoal for crease. But like any products used wet, make sure you leave the lid open to dry before storing or else you'll spoil the product.

Silkygirl Smokey Spark. Revlon Sultry Smoke. Elianto baked shadow duo in B&W.

2. Li Ching, Ng - "I started reading your blog from your Laos travel journals and very much enjoyed them. It's so refreshing to find a local who enjoys traveling the rough & tough way. Since you travel this way, do you lug your makeup with you? Just curious."

Li Ching, "do I lug my makeup with me"?? LOL! Not too long ago, I was invited to a wedding of my husband's friend in Bangkok. He married a Thai celeb, so yes, I did lug my makeup with me! The wedding was non-stop partying with tons of paparazzi around so I had to make sure I had my face on, although I was in none of the pictures! LOL! But to places like Laos?? Of course not! Laos is hardly party-central, and although you do find places with thumping loud music filled with partying backpackers, you can get away with just plain ol' lipbalm. I can't imagine lugging my makeup case with me in and out of buses and such! I normally just slap on my sunblock and lipbalm and I'm good to go! Btw, I only started traveling "the rough & tough" way when I started dating Husband J some 4 years ago. He taught me there's more to traveling than just shopping!!

Travel companions: Eucerine White Solution SPF40. Carmex clickstick.

3. Shadowpuppet - "Hi Puss! I think I know who you are!! I used to listen to you every morning on the radio. I was very upset when you left. I've seen you doing shows and it didn't strike me you are 38?? WOW! You are super slim and toned! You don't look more than 30! I'm younger than you but I swear I look older than you :( What's your secret?"

Shadowpuppet, SSSHHHHHHHH!!! Don't lah shout my age so loudly!! Kidding! I have no issues with being 38, 39, 40, 45, 50, 21, 22... heheheheh. Thank you for the compliment. *blush* What's my secret ah? Errrmmmm ... good genes? My mom's over 60 and she doesn't look a day over 50!! She takes care of her skin and health and I think that must've rubbed off on me. I also never leave my house without sunblock of more that SPF20 (anything lower is useless, I think!). But I am certain it also has a lot to do with my workout routine. Instead of wasting my hard-earned money on those useless diet drinks and pills, I invested in a trainer and a gym membership. I've been working out for 5 years now, 3 times a week, consistently. Best damn investment I've made so far. I believe working out is my fountain of youth, and that's what has kept me feel and look the way I do. Anyway, are you sure it was me you saw on stage? ;)

4. Leen - "I want to buy the skunk brush from Coastalscents.com. Maybe the pink or the silver, for liquid foundation. But I hear they are not as good as MAC 187. I don't want to to spend almost RM200 on a brush!! What do you think?"

Leen my dear, search all you want, nothing comes even a close second to MAC 187! So you can forget finding a close dupe! In my opinion, they all suck! I have the pink CS stippling brush, a couple of black ones from Crownbrush, and one I bought from Lowyat.net. They ALL shed like a mutha and you end up picking up fibers off your face! Keep your money, go to Etude House and get their skunk brush. It's soft, dense and strong enough to stipple liquid foundation without shedding. It's not as big, certainly not a MAC187, but still does a fab job. Retails for RM39.90, you can also use this as a blusher brush.

5. Carol Moretti - "Why don't you do EOTDs or FOTDs?"

Heya Carol! I don't do EOTDs or FOTDs because there are plenty of far more talented people than I am on the World Wide Web. I don't feel I need to add to the number. I'm just gonna stick to reviews - it's what I enjoy doing. Thanks for writing in! :)

6. ElinAA - "Why haven't you enabled your comments function? It's quicker than email."

Hi ElinAA, yeah, I should, huh. Look what happened with my yahoo mail inbox?? Over flowed with messages! sigh. I'm such a noob. I don't like to tinker with the settings because whenever I do, something else goes "poof!", and that will p!ss me off. But that's no excuse. Consider it done! Thanks for bringing this up!

7. Siew92 - "I love reading your blog, but what's your real name?"

Hi Siew92!

It's PUSS.IN.HEELS
;)

Once again, THANK YOU for all your messages. Feel free to drop me a line, I'd *love* to hear from you!

Have a fantabulous day!

Intermission

Hola Chicas.

I am still trying out different templates and backgrounds, so please bear with me. I don't like how some blogs are so heavily loaded with links that it takes a hundred years to fully load, so I am avoiding that with my blog. The problem is I get bored with things so quickly (makeup included - why do you think I have a truck load of products??) and there's always a need to change things around. I am still looking for an almost-perfect template (because there's
no such thing as perfect, if not this would be a dull place to live in!) so I will keep on trying different things on my blog. My apologies if these changes are giving you unexplained migraine and the sort.

Meantime, I had pretty nice make-up on yesterd
ay, so tomorrow's Make-up of the Week will be on yesterday's face.

OK dokes ... me going to tinker more on this notebook to see what else in the world wide web that catches me eye ...

Take care!!

A year later...

PJ
2.09pm

HAPPY 1st YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

Yes, time flies! It was exactly one year ago when I decided to blog about nothing, everything and anything. And here we are, one year later, this blog is still about nothing, everything and anything!! When I decided to blog, I didn't plan what the theme would be, so I thought I'd write about all that is happening in my life. Much like a diary, which I used to write faithfully when I was in my teens. So this blog started out just for personal reasons. It still is. In a year, I've done journals on my travels, my experience having gone through surgery, my new found love in cooking and of course, my beloved cats.

I am also still unemployed, and it looks set to stay this way for a while. I do envy those who do work though, but I count my blessings everyday in a time like this, Husband J can still manage to carry my financial burden and keep us afloat. My spending money has shrunk, I've had to drastically change my lifestyle, and I have found comfort in staying home. I am budgeting better than ever which resulted in a surge of interest in drugstore makeup products, especially those you can't find in Malaysia. And when it's unavailable to you, you tend to pull all your resources to get hold of them. My makeup skills have improved, my blending techniques though
basic, is a lot better than when I was working, and my product knowledge is A+! I have time now to throng the Internet and read up some of the more popular beauty blogs and watch makeup videos on YouTube. I'm still mulling over whether I should take up a makeup course - I believe I can do really well!!

A year ago, my passion was shoes. I don't think I even bought any until a few weeks ago. And this pair was so marked down, I just had to buy it before it's taken off the shelves for good! I had been eye-balling this pair of fierce shoes for months and was extremely delighted and surprised it was still selling. And they had my size!! Hallelujah!!

The only pair in a year and they are f-i-e-r-c-e!!

The interest shifted to makeup. Here's a sneak peak at the pile I've amassed in this one year..

Some makeup items collected in the past year!

I did say sneak peak, right? Uh-huh, those are not everything I have. Yes, there are more that I didn't dump on the floor for a photo-op. Yes, I have turned into a serious makeup addict/junkie/whore!

I'll do reviews on the products too, since I have tried so many. But no, this will not be a full-fledged beauty blog - I refuse for it to be! So until I take off on another holiday adventure, or cook an amazing meal that's beyond roast, pasta, rissoles, there will be plenty to read under the 'Beauty Binge' label!

Stop Press! Puss' back blogging!

PJ
8.35pm

OK, yes. I have been a lazy bum lately...

I've been very poor at blogging entries this month, I know. I have no excuses. Quite frankly, I don't know what to blog about these days. The only thing I am excited about is my makeup, but there are way too many beauty blogs and I really don't want to add to that statistics. Plus, I do believe there's more to my life than makeup!!

I thought of opening up another blog, strictly on makeup and all things beauty. No FOTD's or EOTD's, just reviews on the many products I've used. But then I thought, I can't even maintain one, let alone to have two blogs, so that idea was thrown out. I can still write about makeup products here, as I have a tag especially for that called: beauty binge. So I guess that'll work. But I do want to write about other things besides makeup. The travelling journals I wrote are quite fun, though that took forever to finish! I write about my cats. They're always a joy to write about, but this blog is also for personal consumption so I do want to touch on a variety of things happening in my life.

Next month, April, makes this blog one year old. And for a year old blog I don't think I have made it into anything spectacular. Like I said, the main purpose of this blog is for me, moving on from diaries when I was a teenager. But I do want to write more often, and right now, the one thing that I can consistently write about is makeup.

However, this blog will continue to touch on everything and anything: beauty, food, cats, family, travels, friends etc. Whatever makes my life, gets a mention in this blog, just how it was meant to be a year ago.

On a different note, I've resurrected the Mac again. It was shoved in one corner because the power adapter died and it took forever for Machines at The Gardens to order a new one. They were supposed to call, but 3 months later, nothing. So I went to see them and paid RM349 for a new power adapter. Now it's back in business, yet again. The HP is getting a rest, after serving me faithfully for that whole time. I think the HP is going to quit on me soon. I've been using it heavily lately, and sometimes I was sure it was huffing and puffing. So thank God I got off my ass to get the Mac working again.

Tell you what, come April in a few days, I'll do a summary on all the things that have been happening this past year. Yeah, that's an idea!

So 'till then..

Puss in lazy mode

Sunday
9.30pm

@ home

I have a few more days left on my Laos journal, and yes, I should be doing them instead of this meaningless entry, but.....Oh! Well!!

Tonight is Chinese New Year eve, and the firecrackers are already going off. It'll be in full force at midnight and beyond, so disturbed sleep tonight. Joy.. Thank God tomorrow's a public holiday. Not that it means anything to me since I am on holiday all the time!

However, I'm in Lazy Mode. Lazy and Bored Mode. My sister just text asking whether I want to go somewhere this Tuesday, because she's bored. *shrugs*

It's Chinese New Year, many of the shops will be closed, although some will open from the first day itself. Funny how the whole country goes *dead* during this celebration..

I will be back with the remaining stories from my Laos trip.

Stay tuned*

Meantime, Happy Chinese New Year of the Ox/Cow/Moooo....

Travels: Laos, here we come!!

december 19, 08 friday
4:42pm
WOOT!

All packed up and ready for tomorrow's trip.

The flight is on Thai Airways (Business Class - J's work is paying, as part of his contract!!) and it departs KLIA at 7.55am. Which means, we need to have the cab pick us up at 5.30am and send us to Sentral.

We'll make a stop-over at Bangkok International for a few hours, and then off we go on another Thai Airways flight to Vientiane. We should be reaching Vientiane by 1pm. That's not so bad. I think it'll be an interesting flight.

J's coming home from Singapore tonight and then we're packing whatever's left, get some sleep and rise really early tomorrow.

This will be the longest trip I've taken so far. Usually, I'd be gone for just 1 week. This trip is for 2 weeks. I hope the cats will be OK and that brother Jen will take good care of them. I've stocked up on their food and have done the necessary cleaning up around the house.

I'll also be out of circulation for this 2 weeks, since neither J nor I are taking our laptops with us. So the updates will come after we get back on Jan 4th next year.

So off we go on our little adventure in Laos!! Happy holidays!!

xoxo,

New look!

december 19, 08 friday
12:10am
Yeah, the blog has 'new skin'. Lemme tell you, it was hell trying to make sense of the change and the process took me 3 hours!! Just to find a template I liked, and then to download the sucker. I went back and forth, back and forth. I tell you, I am completely useless at this!! Buuuut! I managed to change the layout, although it took me the whole darn afternoon!!

I am mighty proud of myself and love the new look!! Then, it took me the whole night to change the settings until I was satisfied with the overall look. My eye balls are dancing right now, my back is aching and my head is spinning. My throat is dry, as if I have been talking that whole time!! My neck hurts too from looking at the computer screen for soooo long.

If I had to do it all over again (touch wood!!), I don't think I am able to. I still have no idea how I got this far!!

I am so tired! And I think my butt has fallen asleep too!! haha

Moon's bigger!

december 12, 08 friday
10.32pm
Was out with Husband J and good friend Robbie tonight, and was told that "the moon is bigger tonight".

Huh??

Tonight, the moon moved out of its orbit by 10%, therefore it is closer to earth than usual, so it appears bigger. The last "big moon" was sighted some 15 years ago. And the ocean must be very choppy tonight too - great night for fishing out crabs and prawns!! Not that I am anywhere near the sea to do so!!

The moon does appear larger tonight, and brighter. It was awesome!! So beautiful!!

Beware of the 'M' Bear

december 3, 08 wednesday
4.03pm
Just for sh!ts and giggles...

It's the Masturbating Bear!! I first saw him when he was somewhat a feature on Late Night with Conan O'Brian 12 years ago, and I still loved him 'till today. The bear was hilarious, obscene, rude and crude. But of course!

That's why he's my favourite bear!! *LOL*

Smiling Moon

december 1, 08 monday
10.41pm
It's the first day of the final month of the year, and as usual, there will almost always be some kind of disaster to close the year. This year is no exception. The end of 2008 saw bloody attacks on civilians in Mumbai, India, locals and foreigners. It is so sad.

But today, the first day of December, the moon is smiling. Thought it would be interesting to document this. I didn't take a picture, because it was too far (or I am too short!), and my camera is not able to do it justice. But it looks like this:

There were also 2 bright stars at the top of the 'smile', making it look like a smiling face!!

Perhaps the worst is behind us? Here's hoping that we can look forward to a happy 2009!

The BIG Weekend Project

november 29, 08 saturday
10pm
Although this project was 3 weekends ago...

OK. Here's what usually happens on the weekends, be it Saturday or Sunday (because one of the days we get to sleep in!) :

9am wake up!/mandi/clean up and feed cats/wake up Husband J
10am pick up cleaners
11am in Bangsar/Kiara/FAM for breakfast and/or lunch
1p home

Pretty much a routine. So husband J's 'light bulb' switched on. Why not we re-paint the room!! OMG! What a brilliant idea!! NOT!

Anyway. I found myself at the DIY store nearby refusing to committ picking out colours. After all, I am completely clueless where interior designing (?) is concerned. Plus, I don't want to make-over the room! That means changing things around and I am never too crazy about changes. I'm like a cat, changes make me feel....ermmm...unstable. OK. That didn't sound right, but you get what I mean.

So the whole (late) afternoon, I pretty much stayed out of the way while J filled the cracks and sandpapered the walls. Now, J said it would take him the weekend to get the job done. Well, if you start work, like, at 4pm, it would be impossible to finish the job, no?? J started grumbling to the tune of: if 2 people do the work, we'd finish faster. Eh?? Didn't we agree for me to stay out of the way? The room was in a complete mess with dust, paint stains, newspapers and furniture everywhere. For a bit, looking at the state of my bedroom, I was beginning to think this was a baaaaad idea.

I picked up a roller and rolled new coat of paint on the walls. That was my first time ever painting walls. I was not optimistic. It didn't look like we were going to finish it over the weekend. We spent 3 nights sleeping in one of the rooms upstairs (thank God this house has many rooms!!) and were struggling to get the room finished as soon as possible.

We ended up finishing the walls and cleaning up the room in 4 days, which included pushing the furniture back where they belonged.

I was initially upset that J painted the window grills as well, as I wanted them to remain black. Buuuuut..it turned out quite...classy.

Now, we have a room with clean walls with some colour! We had white walls and they were awful! I HATE white walls!!

Hmm. J did a good job! Whaddya know! Our room really looks like.... a room! Nice!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

november 20, 08 thursday

That was the exact question when I looked in the mirror these past few days! Ever since my facial session with my long-time facialist, Faza, a week ago, my skin has been acting up. I hate to think that Faza's amazing facial kills are not so amazing for my skin anymore. I've been trusting my face to her for 7 years now, and have never had a problem.

But I did slap on my new BB Cream from Etude House I bought recently. My skin went amok after that. I'm trying to console myself: maybe it's the BB Cream, because as much as I want to jump in onto the rave on BB Creams, maybe it's not for my skin. So after the third attempt at slathering on BB Cream in hopes of better skin, I am passing on the tube to Haidi, Adek's girlfriend. Maybe it'll work better for her since she's young.

This morning, my skin looks a little behaved. The big red zit on my left cheek has subsided, the small pimple-scar below the right side of my mouth has calmed down, and the other smaller pimples which were about to flare up, scattered above my lips and on my nose seem to have shrunk. Thank God!! My skin looks a little smoother today. All thanks to mum's aloevera gel and that marvelous calamine lotion!!

So I'm hoping for better skin tomorrow. Or else I won't be able to face the mirror tomorrow!!

Fingers crossed!!

Smile!!

Some people have commented, ever since I left radio, my face is calmer, my demeanor is calmer and I seemed to smile more!!

I was aware I hardly ever smiled at work, because my ex-colleagues told me. I always looked pissed off. That was why I was never really popular at work, or deemed friendly by my ex-colleagues. I don't know why. That place never made me happy. The people never made me happy. I didn't find any reason to smile I guess.

But these days, my life is a little less stressful, and I don't have to deal with primadonna morons anymore. So I think that's a reason to smile. I'm still quite the ice queen, mind you, but the 'ice' has slowly melted.

I also found a whole new reaction when I do smile - people are more receptive towards you! The world seemed a friendlier place. OK, I know that's so cliche, but it's true! Take it from someone who hardly ever smiled!!

So smile! It doesn't cost a cent!!
